Ecology and  health

Our objective is to develop a new model of construction and development, which makes it possible to respond to the major challenges of the 21st century. Our program is part of a concern for a sustainable economic model, preservation of the environment and comfort of life.

Cubeco commitments

Our main objectives for reducing the ecological footprint of the house are:

  • For energy:

    • a zero carbon footprint (neutral impact) without the use of fossil fuels,

    • energy consumption reduced by 60% compared to average domestic demand,

    • a 90% reduction in heating demand;

  • For the environment :

    • water consumption reduced by 30%,

    • the use of French materials coming at least half from a distance of less than 60 km from the module production site,

    • the development of the biodiversity of green spaces, even on the roofs,

    • reduce the consumption of natural or agricultural land by using foundations that respect the natural ground (micro piles);

Regulations

energy 2020

Coming into force on January 1, 2022, RE2020 replaces RT 2012 and is now mandatory for all new housing.  The government has defined five performance requirements for ER 2020:

  • The optimization of the energy design of the building independently of the energy systems implemented;

  • Limitation of primary energy consumption,

  • Reducing the impact on climate change associated with these consumptions;

  • Control of the impact of building components, from construction site to end of life, on climate change;

  • The limitation of situations of discomfort in the building during the summer period.

Two other elements are also imposed, but for information purposes only. They concern: “the building's impact on climate change, assessed over its entire life cycle” as well as “the quantity of carbon coming from the atmosphere and stored in the building”.

Housing and health

At Cubeco, we are particularly vigilant about the links between health and the place where we live. We are committed to selecting the healthiest possible products and to doing everything to reduce the risks that the habitat may present.

  • 50Hz electromagnetic currents

    • In France, the current distributed is an alternating current with a frequency of 50 Hz (extremely low frequency). In the immediate vicinity of a high voltage line, aerial or underground, an electric field and a magnetic field are present.

    • Inside homes, the sources of extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields are of two types: electrical networks and household appliances. Exposure to extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields due to household appliances is a function of the distance to this equipment.

  • VOCs: Volatile Organic Compounds

    • VOCs are volatile substances in the air and classified as carcinogens. Indoors their too high concentration is dangerous for health.

    • Since 2013 building materials and interior decoration elements are subject to mandatory labeling displaying their level of risk.

  • Purify your indoor air

    • Cubeco works in partnership with French manufacturers of air purifiers. These devices make it possible to filter 99% of the particles present in the air, pollen, VOCs, formaldehydes but also bacteria and viruses including Covid-19. The air becomes healthier and health problems can be avoided.
